As a child I dreamed of building a small house on top of a mountain.
I had the plans in my mind. The layout of the furniture in a blue sketchbook.
I used to fantasize about a shelter where I could stay during the stormy days.
One afternoon while I was tracing the façade of my future home with a branch in the ground,
I was an accidental victim of ornithochory, as a small bird dropped a seed on me.
I didn't realise it at the time, but as the days went by,
And with the humidity brought by the words of the adults, that seed turned into a sprout.
From then on there was no room in me for the vision of a mountaintop shelter.
So, I began to devise a house somewhere on the hillside,
But as the sprout constituted itself into hard branches,
There was no room but to imagine a domicile at the foot of a hill,
But the heat of logic was so intense that the tree reached maturity in record time.
Woe was me when the fruit began to fall to the ground, a fly-ridden plot.
An orchard torn apart by red mites disguised as comfort
